Deployment IR Contract

Deployment IR is the JSON contract between CradleXC and a backend plugin. It contains resolved, backend-neutral scenario information rather than source syntax or provider-specific template values.

Plugins should:

  • validate that the supplied ir_version is supported;
  • parse the JSON permissively and ignore unknown additive fields;
  • avoid assuming provider-specific fields that are not part of the IR; and
  • retain the IR path reported on failures for reproducible debugging.

The Rust DeploymentIR type in CradleXC is the field-by-field authority. Do not treat this documentation page as a schema duplicate.
